So, a higher truck can be very helpful to avoid wheel bites. However, the higher truck will not provide you with good stability at high speed, and it would tremendously hard to accelerate or brake the longboard by foot. What is Baseplate Angle?
How much the baseplate angle of the longboard truck is can affect your riding experience drastically. Normally the baseplate angle falls into the range of 20 degrees to 70 degrees. Lower baseplate angle can make the longboard turn more easily. But it is not very friendly for leaning. A slight lean will change into a turn. So it is with poor stability. On the contrary, Higher baseplate angle is designed for leaning, and it is more stable. But it is very sluggish. If the rider wants to turn, he/she would cost more energy.
